Why should I join a Hope Companions support group?

A supportive community of belonging with peers who share similar experiences.

IBA’s informal peer support groups are designed for young adults (ages 18-29), caregivers, family members, and friends affected by PANS PANDAS. These groups provide emotional, social, and informational support, fostering connections among individuals with shared experiences. Support meetings are currently offered online across Canada, with plans to introduce in-person meet-ups in the future. These gatherings will take place in comfortable public spaces such as coffee shops, community centers, or local child and youth mental health agencies.

These groups offer a welcoming and supportive environment that promotes encouragement, empowerment, and hope. Occasionally, guest speakers will cover topics like parenting, trauma, self-care, and more. Group meet-ups occur either monthly or bimonthly, with the frequency sometimes increasing based on the interests of the group leader and members, resulting in varying group sizes.

Joining an IBA peer support group is free, and no commitment is required.

No one should ever have to journey alone.
